You can not ask for a nicer person. Master Prieto has a gift with kids few others have. I have seen the difference that he makes in myself and in his students. He has taught me so much about how to become a better instructor/Martial Artist. If I'm ever in the area I know I'm always welcome there.

I started Karate here when I was 7 as just a means of exercise, but it developed into a hobby and a love of mine. Mr. Prieto and Mr. Austin are extremely knowledgeable instructors and have a great sense of humor. They inspired me to push myself and I became a second degree black belt. Learning karate at a young age has taught me a lot about respect and self confidence that assisted me through my own personal growth. I’m so glad that I was able to grow up and build many friendships through this program.

Norris’s System. I wanted my kid, Max to have a good off campus P.E. Program. This is that, plus WAY more! Then our whole family became involved. Now we practice a lot of different arts together including; Krav Maga And Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which is AWESOME! Mr. Prieto and Austin are the BEST!

Do I need to know jiu-jitsu or Judo to study Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

No, you don’t. There are beginner classes available and many of the people who study Brazilian Jiu Jitsu have no prior martial arts training.

Do I need any special equipment to study Brazilian Martial Arts?

Students typically wear a Gi (two-piece garment worn by martial artists.) It is also typical for some students may want to wear a mouth guard. It’s a good idea to have a supply of athletic tape, as well.

As a beginner, do I need to spar?

No. Beginner classes focus on teaching basic techniques and safety, and you can then work your way up to controlled sparring in class.
